Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has insisted that the club will not be demoted to England's second tier ahead of their crunch match at Wigan this afternoon.
Rovers currently lie one place clear of the Latics who prop up the Premier League, but a win for Roberto Martinez's side would send Blackburn to bottom.
"We want to say let's get some momentum leading into the tough Christmas period," said Kean.
"Let's go and be aggressive - we want a victory and that is our focus.
"We won't get relegated, absolutely no chance. We just need to keep plugging away."
Blackburn have picked up just one league win so far this campaign - a 4-3 win at home to Arsenal - but Kean vows that Rovers should be higher up the table.
"We feel we should have six or seven more points and be sitting halfway up the league.
"It's not as if we are getting battered, not playing well and we're on the ropes."
Blackburn's supporters have been far from enamoured with Kean's efforts, with many protesting against the Glaswegian long after recent home matches have finished.
