Steve Kean "confident" on survival chances

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean is confident that his team will get their survival bid back on track.

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean is confident that his team will get their stuttering survival bid back on track.

Back-to-back wins over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sunderland in March had looked to have put the Lancashire side firmly on course to avoid relegation.

However, the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday was Rovers' fourth consecutive loss and they now sit 19th in the Premier League table, three points below safety.

Later today Blackburn play Swansea City, whom they beat 4-2 at Ewood Park in December, and Kean is feeling positive.

He said: "We've worked on the bits we feel we can improve on and we'll go down to Swansea and try to do the double over them.

"They've got a very good home record but we know if we can get a clean sheet and a victory, and then match what we did against Wolves and Sunderland, where we had back-to-back victories and back-to-back clean sheets, then the whole table changes again.

"We're still confident we can get into a good position."

Blackburn have not played an away match against Swansea since 1983.
