Robbie Savage: Steve Kean cannot continue

Robbie Savage describes Steve Kean's position at Blackburn Rovers as "untenable" and he does not see how the Scot can continue to manage the relegated club.

Former Blackburn Rovers captain Robbie Savage believes that manager Steve Kean's position is "untenable" and that he must leave Ewood Park.

The Lancashire side had their relegation to the Championship confirmed tonight following a 1-0 home defeat to Wigan Athletic.

Throughout the match, home supporters chanted "Kean out", in protest of the Scot's continued employment.

There have also been numerous protests held this season against Kean and the club's Indian owners.

Savage told BBC Sport: "Steve Kean's position is untenable.

"I do not see how he can carry on. These are not nice scenes at Ewood Park, with the hatred towards him from the crowd."

Last week, Savage said that Rovers' players should have been embarrassed after they failed to muster a single shot during their 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur.
