Blackburn Rovers are reportedly hopeful of signing former Benfica and Fiorentina forward Nuno Gomes.
The 35-year-old is currently out of contract, having been released by Braga at the end of last season.
Manager Steve Kean wants Gomes to partner new signing Leon Best up front in the coming season and the Lancashire club are in talks with the Portugal international, according to the Daily Mail.
Gomes has been capped 79 times at senior international level, scoring 29 goals.
