Barry Ferguson not ruling out permanent Blackpool job

Barry Ferguson says that Blackpool is "starting to become a happy place", but the caretaker manager believes that a permanent appointment is needed as soon as possible.

Barry Ferguson has said that he has "loved" working with the Blackpool players during his time as caretaker manager, and has not ruled out taking charge on a permanent basis.

The former Rangers midfielder, who was put in temporary charge following the sacking of Paul Ince, insists that Bloomfield Road is now a "happy place", but believes that time has come for the club to make a decision on who they want in the dugout.

"This is starting to become a happy place now. It is coming to the stage now where the players are wanting to know what's happening and so are the supporters," Ferguson told the Daily Star.

"It's ultimately up to the chairman to decide. But I've loved it. I have loved working with the players.

"I always said that once I was given a bit of time, to let the new boys bed in and for us to get down to a bit of work on the training ground, then we would see the results."

Blackpool's 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday was Ferguson's second draw in the four games he has been in charge.
