Michael Appleton has been named as the new manager of Blackpool.
It is believed that the former Portsmouth boss has signed a one-year rolling contract at Bloomfield Road.
The Championship club had been looking for a new manager following Ian Holloway's departure to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
"Getting the opportunity to come to a club that has had a lot of success over previous seasons is a big part of wanting to be here," Appleton told Blackpool's official website.
"I'm just desperate to meet the players tomorrow now and crack on with the job."
Ashley Westwood will join Appleton's backroom staff from Portsmouth, while Steve Thompson will continue as assistant coach.
