Preview: Bologna vs. Juventus

Sports Mole previews Friday's Serie A clash between Bologna and Juventus.

Juventus will attempt to extend their lead at the top of Serie A to six points when they make the trip to struggling Bologna on Friday evening.

Fernando Llorente struck in stoppage time to hand the Italian champions a 1-0 win over Udinese on Sunday – a result that moved them three points clear of Roma, who could only draw at Atalanta.

Bologna, meanwhile, currently sit 17th in the table on 12 points – just three from the bottom of the table – but they have lost just one of their last five games in the league. Juve, however, are currently on a fourth-match winning run in Serie A.

Conceding goals has been a problem for Bologna this season, with 26 goals scores against them in their 14 league matches to date. Juventus, meanwhile, are the second top scorers in the league with 29 after Inter Milan's 31.

Juventus have won three of the last five fixtures between the two sides, including a 2-0 win in this stadium last season. However, Bologna did secure a point when the pair clashed at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in March 2012.

The home side will be without the suspended Frederik Sorensen after the defender saw red in his team's 1-1 draw with Parma at the weekend. That could mean a start for 20-year-old Diego Laxalt.

Paul Pogba is expected to return to the Juve XI after starting on the bench against Udinese, while there could also be a place in attack for experienced forward Mirko Vucinic.

Angelo Ogbonna and Martin Caceres, however, will both have to be content with spots on the bench once more.
