Neil Lennon: 'Bolton Wanderers lack creativity'

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon believes that he is currently short of creativity in his squad.

Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon has claimed that he must introduce a creative edge to the squad as soon as possible.

Lennon was confirmed as Dougie Freedman's replacement on the weekend, and he has immediately outlined the areas which require improvement as he looks to guide Bolton away from the Championship's relegation zone.

"I like to win and I've made that pretty clear to the players as well," the former Celtic boss told reporters. "I like to play football - whatever that is - obviously you want to be entertaining.

"At the minute there looks like there's a lack of creativity within the squad, maybe that's something we'll look at going forward and a little bit of pace as well maybe in the final third. Those players are hard to find sometimes but we'll endeavour to do that.

"I like Mark Davies as a player. I had a word with him and told him how important he was to the team, the squad and myself going forward. The sooner we get him back, the better we'll be as a team as well."

Bolton meet Birmingham City on Saturday afternoon.
