Jurgen Klopp: 'Juventus defeat changes little'

Jurgen Klopp says that Juventus deserved to beat his Borussia Dortmund side in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he is confident his side can still reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, despite losing the first leg of their last-16 tie against Juventus.

The German outfit suffered a 2-1 defeat in Turin, but Marco Reus's away goal could prove crucial when the teams meet again next month.

"It's not true to say we didn't have any shots in the second half, but we did play better in the first half," Klopp told Sky Sport Italia. "Our plan was to press them on the ball, especially [Giorgio] Chiellini and [Leonardo] Bonucci, which of course worked for the goal.

"However, we gave away two goals much too easily and it is always going to be a problem if you do that. In the first half we didn't deserve to be a goal down, but after the break Juve did enough to deserve this result.

"This changes little, we will see who emerges the winner in Dortmund. I think we can be strong at home and even if this had ended in a draw, we'd still feel the need to win at home. If you think about two games against Juve, it's normal to lose one of them by a single goal. We'll try to make up for that in the second one."

Dortmund will return to league action on Saturday with a derby clash against rivals Schalke 04.
