Borussia Monchengladbach comfortably see off Hertha Berlin

Three first-half goals pave the way for Borussia Monchengladbach to comfortably see off Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Monchengladbach have closed in on a Champions League spot having seen off Hertha Berlin 3-0 at Borussia-Park in the Bundesliga.

Juan Arango opened the scoring for the home side after being picked out by Patrick Herrmann, as he found the bottom corner of the net.

Shortly after Max Cruse climbed to head a free kick which went in off Adrian Ramos to double Gladbach's tally for the evening with 32 minutes played.

Hertha struggled to contain the Foals, and Raffael ensured the contest was all but over before half time when he added his side's third.

The Brazilian was played through on goal and finished low past the keeper when in a one-on-one situation.

Gladbach went in search of a fourth goal, but the closest they came to finding the net was through Martin Stranzl, who struck the post with his headed effort.
