Borussia Monchengladbach pegged back by Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Monchengladbach have blown a 2-0 lead on Saturday afternoon to settle for a point in their home game against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

The start could not have gone any better for the home side and they were ahead inside four minutes. Patrick Herrmann cut in from the right and struck a low left-footed shot into the corner from the edge of the box.

Almost immediately Hoffenheim came close to equalising, but Sejad Salihovic's shot from outside the box went wide after he was found by Kai Herdling.

Gladbach kept up their pressure and inside 20 minutes were deservedly two goals to the good. Raffel put a corner onto the edge of the six-yard box where Tony Jantschke headed in to double the advantage.

Salihovic then tested Marc-Andre ter Stegen with an effort just before the break, but the home goalkeeper got behind it well to hang on.

Hoffenheim came back out strongly and with 10 minutes gone of the second half they pulled a goal back. Roberto Firmino finished from close range from Kevin Volland's cut-back before the away side continued to press.

Martin Stranzl brought down Fabian Johnson in the box with eight minutes left to play, which allowed Salihovic to score from the spot and make it 2-2.
