Wigan Athletic will have another chance to improve upon their disappointing start to the Championship season when they travel to the Goldsands Stadium to take on Bournemouth this Saturday.
The Latics have amassed just eight points from their opening eight matches, leaving the pre-season promotion candidates languishing 17th in the early standings.
Uwe Rosler has seen his side pick up just two victories in nine outings in all competitions so far, while they come into this match on a three-game winless streak.
The latest of those matches saw them fall to their first home defeat of the campaign at the hands of Ipswich Town on Monday night, while they have not won on their travels since April.
It was a strong showing in the second half of last season that thrust Wigan into the playoff positions, so Rosler will not be worrying too much just yet, but his side need to find the winning touch again sooner rather than later.
The Latics may welcome Martyn Waghorn back into the starting lineup after he came off the bench to score against Ipswich on Monday, meaning that Andy Delort could be left out.
As for Bournemouth, they made a flying start to the season and topped the table after two games, but things have gone downhill for the Cherries since then.
They are without a league win in their last six matches, losing three and drawing three to drop down to 15th in the current standings.
If there is a bright spark in the recent form then it would be the fact that they have only lost once in their last six in all competitions, although that defeat was a disappointing 3-1 loss to Leeds United in their most recent home outing.
They come into this match on the back of an impressive victory over Cardiff City in the League Cup on Tuesday, however, as Dan Gosling scored twice in the first half to help Eddie Howe's side to a 3-0 win in South Wales.
That brace leaves the midfielder pushing for a start this weekend, although Howe could be tempted to stick with the side that picked up a decent point away to Watford last Saturday.
That would see a return up front for summer recruit Callum Wilson, who has netted four times in eight appearances since his move from Coventry City.
