Half-Time Report: Bournemouth ahead against Wigan Athletic through Yann Kermorgant's goal

Yann Kermorgant's goal gives Bournemouth a 1-0 lead over Wigan Athletic at half time.

Bournemouth lead Wigan Athletic at half time in their Championship clash thanks to Yann Kermorgant's goal.

Bournemouth nearly took a first-minute lead when Ian Harte's corner found Simon Francis on the edge of the Wigan Athletic area, but the defender sent his effort flying over the bar.

Matt Ritchie sent a spectacular 25-yard effort inches wide of Scott Carson's goal on 25 minutes, and seconds later Kermorgant saw his curled effort from inside the box saved by the Wigan Athletic goalkeeper

However, Bournemouth went ahead on 36 minutes when Ritchie curled a cross from the left wing on the head of Kermorgant, who nodded home at the back post.
