Dominic Solanke nets an 83rd-minute equaliser as Bournemouth come from behind to draw 1-1 with West Ham United at the Vitality Stadium.

Dominic Solanke netted an 83rd-minute equaliser as Bournemouth came from behind to draw 1-1 with West Ham United at the Vitality Stadium in Saturday's Premier League contest.

Bowen sent David Moyes's side ahead in the 51st minute of the contest, but Solanke registered late on to ensure that the points would be shared.

Bournemouth had two summer signings in their first XI, with Milos Kerkez and Max Aarons both starting, while the headline team news for West Ham saw Lucas Paqueta start amid speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City, but Edson Alvarez was not fit enough to feature following his recent move from Ajax.

West Ham were the team forcing the issue in the early exchanges, with Pablo Fornals and Bowen both missing the target with attempts inside the opening seven minutes.

Bournemouth had a brilliant chance of their own in the 13th minute after smart work from Solanke, but David Brooks could only fire his effort wide of the far post.

Tomas Soucek then hit the inside of the post from close range, with the ball landing into the arms of Neto, as Bournemouth escaped a dangerous moment.

Alphonse Areola had to keep out a strike from Ryan Christie in the 26th minute, before a mistake from West Ham captain Kurt Zouma also allowed Solanke a chance five minutes later, but the defender just about did enough to make the clearance.

Philip Billing cleared one off the line late in the first period, but neither side did enough to deserve to enter the half-time interval with the lead.

Areola did brilliantly to keep out an effort from Brooks early in the second half, before West Ham made the breakthrough in the 51st minute through Bowen.

The Englishman collected a pass from Soucek on the edge of the box before brilliantly picking out the back of the net to open the scoring at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth had a chance to level in the spell that followed, but Areola denied Solanke following smart work from Aarons to release his teammate, before Billing had a free kick deflected over the crossbar.

Christie then hit the top of the crossbar with a rasping effort from distance, with the Cherries putting the pressure on Moyes's side in search of a leveller.

Finally, Bournemouth levelled the scores in the 83rd minute, with Solanke rounding Areola before picking out the back of the net after a shot had been deflected into his path.

Paqueta struck the inside of the post late on, with the visitors looking for a winner, but the points were ultimately shared in a 1-1 draw.

Bournemouth will continue their league campaign away to Liverpool next Saturday, while West Ham will welcome Chelsea to the London Stadium next Sunday.
