Romario critical of Mano Menezes

Brazil legend Romario criticises national team coach Mano Menezes following Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Mexico in the Olympic final.

Brazil legend Romario has criticised national team coach Mano Menezes following Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Mexico in the Olympic final.

The Brazilians were the favourites going into the match at Wembley Stadium, but two goals from Oribe Peralta saw the Mexicans pick up the gold medal.

"He is a coach who cannot pick the correct selection and does not call up the right players," Romario told TV Record. "Thankfully we are seeing today his last match [in charge] of the selection."

Romario was part of the Brazil side that won the silver medal at the 1988 Games in Seoul.
