Marcelo will be part of Brazil's squad for this weekend's World Cup quarter-final showdown with Belgium after recovering from injury.
The 30-year-old missed out on the Selecao's 2-0 win over Mexico last time out due to a back spasm that may have been caused by a faulty hotel mattress.
Marcelo had previously lasted just 10 minutes of the final Group E outing against Serbia, but after an eight-day rest Brazil boss Tite will consider throwing in the full-back to face Belgium in Kazan.
Asked if the Real Madrid ace will be used from the off, however, Tite responded: "Marcelo is coming back [but] Filipe Luis played well in the two matches."
Brazil will be without the suspended Casemiro on Friday evening, meaning that Fernandinho will likely slot into midfield.
