Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has opted to remain with his team despite the death of his nephew in a car crash.
The former Chelsea manager attended the official FIFA press conference today, rather than travelling to Southern Brazil to be with his family in the wake of the tragedy.
"Sometimes we have to deal with some difficulties, but you have to try to move on," he told reporters.
Scolari, whose side are the favourites to lift the trophy this year, went on to say that he is hoping the competition will bring a sense of national pride to Brazil.
"For all Brazilians, I want to say our time has arrived. We want to go together. This is our World Cup," he added.
Brazil take on Croatia at Sao Paulo's Itaquerao Stadium tomorrow in the opening match of the tournament.
