Luiz Felipe Scolari to decide future after World Cup third-place playoff?

Luiz Felipe Scolari, under fire after Brazil's humiliating World Cup exit, will not make a decision on his future until after their third-place playoff on Saturday.

Luiz Felipe Scolari will reportedly delay his decision on whether to stay on as Brazil manager until after their World Cup third-place playoff on Saturday evening.

The Selecao manager is believed to be considering standing down following the hosts' embarrassing 7-1 semi-final defeat to Germany in Belo Horizonte.

Some native newspapers are suggesting that his position is untenable now that he has overseen Brazil's joint-heaviest World Cup defeat, and their first home competitive loss in 39 years.

However, Scolari's focus has turned to preparing his squad for a match against either Netherlands or Argentina this weekend, which will decide who finishes the tournament in third place.

Scolari's second spell in charge of the Selecao started in 2012, and he led them to Confederations Cup glory in 2013.
