Mark Warburton: 'Brentford not panicking'

Mark Warburton insists that his side remain in a strong position despite defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Brentford manager Mark Warburton has insisted that there is no need to panic despite his side having lost top spot and their 19-game unbeaten run with a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in League One on Saturday afternoon.

Wolves won 3-0 at Griffin Park to move second in the table, with Leyton Orient moving to the top, and consigned Warburton to his first Bees defeat.

"If you're asking me if I'm going to hit the panic button after that, then the answer is no," he told Sky Sports News.

"We've just gone 19 games unbeaten and gone toe-to-toe with a very strong Wolves side, who did slightly more on the day.

"Obviously we're disappointed, but we are in a very good place with two games in hand on the top side, and a point behind."

Brentford are six points ahead of fourth-placed Preston North End.
