Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton insists that he is happy to be overlooked by the Premier League's so-called bigger clubs.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has insisted that being overlooked for managerial jobs at so-called bigger clubs does not bother him.

The likes of Burnley's Sean Dyche and Bournemouth's Eddie Howe are frequently touted as candidates when vacant posts emerge at the Premier League giants, while the Seagulls head coach's name rarely comes up.

Hughton, who was recently named as Manager of the Month for February, has insisted that he is happy to be overlooked as he is enjoying life at Brighton.

"No it doesn't bother me. My managerial drive has always been about doing the best job I can. At the moment I'm taking great satisfaction from what we've built up here," he told The Telegraph.

"The most pleasing thing is to think about some of the players who've come through. Lewis Dunk, who I can remember watching two or three years before I got to this club: a centre-half, playing at the Withdean [stadium], making the odd mistake, but full of enthusiasm. Dale Stephens, Solly March, Anthony Knockaert. They're the bits I enjoy. So no, it doesn't bother me. It's not something I think about."

Hughton's Brighton will travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton in the league this weekend.
