Phil Neville is believed to be in the running to replace Gus Poyet as manager of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly added Phil Neville to their list of candidates to replace manager Gus Poyet.

The Championship club suspended Poyet last month for reasons that have not yet been officially confirmed and he is expected to be relieved of his duties at the Amex Stadium in the near future.

The Seagulls have already started to make plans for life after the Uruguayan, with Harry Redknapp, Darren Ferguson and Paulo Sousa all thought to be in the running.

However, that trio have been joined by Neville, who left Everton at the end of last season, according to The Telegraph.

The 36-year-old recently completed his UEFA A licence and will soon travel to Israel to form part of the England Under-21 squad's coaching staff for this month's European Championships.

He has also been linked with a return to his former club Manchester United as part of David Moyes's coaching team.
