Manor Solomon scores a late winner for Fulham as Marco Silva's side record a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

Manor Solomon scored a late winner for Fulham as Marco Silva's side recorded a 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Brighton had 21 goal attempts during a dominant performance, but Solomon's excellent finish in the 88th minute secured all three points for the visitors.

The result has left Fulham in sixth position in the Premier League table, just one point behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, while Brighton occupy seventh, three points behind their opponents in this match, with two games in hand.

Brighton had two opportunities inside the opening four minutes, with Evan Ferguson just missing the target with a first-time effort in the second minute before Solly March curled one wide of the far post.

The Seagulls again threatened in the 11th minute when Pervis Estupinan broke into the box, but the left-back's powerful strike was blocked by Fulham centre-back Issa Diop.

Brighton continued to press and had another half-chance in the 28th minute through Joel Veltman, who saw his volley blocked behind for a corner after more smart work from Estupinan.

Bernd Leno did well to prevent Ferguson from having a shot on goal in the 31st minute, with the Fulham goalkeeper coming off his line to deal with a through pass from Alexis Mac Allister.

Leno then had to keep out a powerful strike from Mac Allister in the 39th minute, before Ferguson had a powerful strike deflected just over the Fulham crossbar three minutes later.

Brighton were much the better team in the first half, and they also had the first opportunity of the second period, with Lewis Dunk heading a March cross wide of the post in the 51st minute.

The home side had the ball in the back of the Fulham net for in the 57th minute through March, but the attacker was clearly in an offside position.

Willian had one deflected wide for Fulham just before the hour, but Brighton went straight up the other end and had another big chance, with Mac Allister's effort drawing a brilliant save from Leno before Moises Caicedo fired the follow up wide of the post.

Tariq Lamptey then curled one over the Fulham crossbar in the 63rd minute, before Leno did well to keep out Kaoru Mitoma and then Mac Allister during a strong period for Brighton.

Brighton again had the ball in the Fulham net in the 77th minute, this time through Deniz Undav, who converted a cross from Mac Allister, but the offside flag saved the visitors once again.

Incredibly, it was Fulham that made the breakthrough in the 88th minute, with Solomon scoring just his second goal for the club.

The 23-year-old raced onto a pass from Carlos Vinicius before picking out the bottom corner of the net with a brilliant finish to secure all three points for Silva's side.

Mac Allister came incredibly close to levelling the scores in the seventh minute of added time, but his free kick just missed the post, with Fulham securing a huge three points.

Brighton's clash with Newcastle United, scheduled for next weekend, has been postponed due to the latter's involvement in the EFL Cup final, so the Seagulls will not be back in action until February 28, when they take on Championship outfit Stoke City in the FA Cup.

Fulham, meanwhile, will continue their Premier League campaign at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers next Friday.
