Brighton manager Gus Poyet hopes to sign former Spain and Valencia winger Vicente.

The 30-year-old will be able to move outside of the recently-closed transfer window because he is a free agent.

"I'll be delighted if it goes through. It's massive for us," Poyet told the Argus.

"Who would have thought we would be signing a player who has played in the Champions League and won La Liga twice?"

Vicente played over 300 times for Valencia and won 38 caps for Spain.
