Manager Sean Dyche was left feeling "frustrated" after Burnley dropped more points following a goalless home draw.
The stalemate against Brighton & Hove Albion keeps the Clarets' unbeaten run at Turf Moor this season intact, though three draws in the last five games leaves the club three points adrift of third-placed Queens Park Rangers.
"We didn't force that real golden chance and we're just a little frustrated we couldn't break them down," Dyche told reporters after the game.
"I was surprised Brighton came with a 4-5-1 and that can be hard to break down. The dominant feel was there for all to see though."
Burnley return to league action with a trip to Loftus Road on Saturday lunchtime.
