Rare Radja Nainggolan goal seals Cagliari win over Bologna

Radja Nainggolan's first goal since September 2011 gives Cagliari Calcio a narrow victory over Bologna in Serie A.

Radja Nainggolan's first goal in over 12 months gave Cagliari Calcio a narrow victory over Bologna this afternoon.

The Belgian midfielder, whose previous goal had come in September 2011, settled the game on the hour with a powerful strike that whistled into the top corner from 18 yards.

Cagliari were a little fortunate to leave Stadio Comunale Sant'Elia with all three points, having been on the back foot for much of the match.

However, Bologna's poor finishing proved to be their downfall, as only one of their 16 attempts at goal hit the target.

Cagliari leapfrog their opponents and now sit 11th in the Serie A table.
