Torino 0-1 Cagliari

Nene scores a second-half penalty to lead Cagliari to a 1-0 away win against Torino in Serie A.

Cagliari have picked themselves off the foot of the Serie A table with a 1-0 victory over Torino in Turin.

The first chance of the match fell to Cagliari, but Nene failed to keep his shot on target.

Danilo Avelar then came close for the visitors, forcing Jean-Francois Gillet into clearing his attempt from under the crossbar.

Albin Ekdal soon had the ball inside the Torino goal from close range, but it was ruled out as play had already stopped.

Cagliari continued to dominate proceedings in Turin in the second half, with Radja Nainggolan shooting across the face of the Torino goal.

The visitors were awarded a penalty on 74 minutes when Kamil Glik was adjudged to have handled Davide Astori's volley inside his own penalty box.

Nene stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake from 12 yards.

Victor Ibarbo crashed his shot against the Torino woodwork soon after, before Rolando Bianchi's header from a free kick for Torino was ruled out for offside.
