Cardiff City boss Russell Slade "gutted" by draw with Blackburn Rovers

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade admits that he feels "gutted" for his players after seeing them concede late to draw 1-1 with Blackburn Rovers.

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade has admitted that he is "gutted" for his players following their 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers.

The Bluebirds looked on course for their first win of the season at Ewood Park last night before Grant Hanley's late goal earned Rovers a point in the Championship clash.

The result has left Cardiff in 13th place in the table with three points from three games.

"It is three points lost when you get so close and I was gutted for the players tonight," Slade is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I thought we'd just about seen them off; they came at us strong in the second period... it looked like we'd weathered that and might even get one on the counter-attack to wrap the game up."

Cardiff continue their league campaign on Saturday when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
