Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unhappy with penalty decision

Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that his side deserved something from their trip to Everton.

Cardiff City boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that his side should have been awarded a penalty during their 2-1 defeat to Everton in the Premier League.

Wilfried Zaha went down in the box under the challenge of Sylvain Distin late in the second half, and the Norwegian is adamant that referee Roger East should have pointed to the spot.

"It was a fantastic effort in the second half. We were brave, got on the ball, created chances and should have had a penalty," Solskjaer told Sky Sports News.

"It was a certainty. I don't know what we have to do to get a penalty in this league. He goes past two or three and Distin trips him up."

Solskjaer went on to praise his side's attitude and claimed that they should have taken at least a point from the match.

"The attitude is different class at the moment and we know we can go to places like this and get points, which we should have had," he added.

"Every game is a huge game but if we have this attitude until the end of the season we'll be fine."

The result leaves Cardiff in 19th place in the table, three points from safety, while Everton occupy sixth.
