Mario Bermejo takes on Celta Vigo role

Mario Bermejo is appointed Celta Vigo's new deputy sporting director.

Mario Bermejo has become Celta Vigo's deputy sporting director after officially ending his 19-year playing career.

The veteran forward, who scored 13 times in 81 games for Celta, announced earlier in the season that he would hang up his boots this summer.

"After playing three memorable seasons with the first team, which exuded professionalism, commitment, incredible support and experience, Mario Bermejo is hanging up his boots, but will continue with Celta Vigo," read a statement on the club's official website.

Bermejo made just one league start last season.
