Preview: Fulham vs. Charlton Athletic

Sports Mole previews Friday evening's Championship match between Charlton Athletic and Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Fulham will be looking for their third win in six matches when they host Charlton Athletic in the Championship on Friday evening.

The Cottagers are enjoying their best run of the season under caretaker boss Kit Symons, picking up 10 points in their last five league outings, including a thrilling 3-3 draw with Rotherham United earlier this week.

Defender Tim Hoogland is expected to be available after missing the trip to the New York Stadium through illness, but Fernando Amorebieta and Adam Taggart both remain sidelined.

Symons should have a fresh squad as he looks to guide the side away from the relegation zone, having made five changes to his midweek starting lineup, opting to rest Bryan Ruiz, while Hugo Rodallega sat out with what was described as a niggle from training.

Meanwhile, Charlton head into the match following a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers earlier this week, after suffering their first defeat of the season last Saturday.

The visitors will be missing Yoni Buyens as he picked up his fifth booking of the season against the Trotters earlier this week.

Bob Peeters may also have to manage without Igor Vetokele again, as an Achilles problem forced him to sit out the match earlier this week, although the manager has not ruled him out. Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Chris Solly will also need late fitness tests.

This is the first time that the teams have faced each other since 2006, when the teams shared a 2-2 draw at The Valley before Fulham beat their London rivals at Craven Cottage.
