Chelsea's Victor Moses reveals how much it meant to him to win the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

Victor Moses has admitted that he thoroughly enjoyed his stint at the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

The Chelsea attacker was widely regarded as one of the tournament's best players as his nation claimed the title in South Africa for the first time since 1994.

Speaking about the experience, Moses insisted that Nigeria had been rewarded for their efforts.

"It meant a lot to me. It was my first time in the African Nations and it meant a lot to the country. They have been waiting for that for 19 years and they appreciate what we did, and we are delighted," he told the club's official website.

"Everyone wrote us off and people said we were going to get knocked out in the first stage, but we still believed in ourselves after the first game. We knew the kind of quality players we have; we might be young players but we believe in ourselves and we kept on working hard as a team."

Moses has now returned to Chelsea and is expected to be part of the squad for tomorrow's FA Cup tie against Brentford.
