Ashley Cole insists that Chelsea will win the Champions League playing "ugly" football if it is required.

Ashley Cole has insisted that he will have no qualms if Chelsea win the Champions League playing "ugly" football.

The Blues head into Saturday's final against Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena as underdogs to claim the trophy for the first time in the club's history.

As a result, England international Cole has revealed that the Chelsea squad value trophies ahead of playing pleasing on the eye football.

"Football is about winning games and if we have to do it ugly, you do it ugly," the left-back told reporters. "Football is about winning trophies.

"Do fans want to see a great footballing team or someone who is picking up trophies playing ugly? For me I'd rather play ugly and win every trophy you can. I think I can say that about all the players here."

Chelsea last appeared in the final back in 2008, where they lost Manchester United on penalties.
