Half-Time Report: Samuel Eto'o opens scoring at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea struggle to threaten the West Bromwich Albion penalty area in a goalless first half at Stamford Bridge.

Samuel Eto'o has given Chelsea a 1-0 lead over West Bromwich Albion with a goal just before the break at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea dominated possession for most of the first half but they found it difficult to break down a stubborn West Brom defence.

Oscar came closest early on with a low strike from outside the box that drifted wide of the target.

The Brazilian forced Boaz Myhill into his first save of the game in the 30th minute when his curled free kick needed tipping past the post.

Chelsea's frustration continued for most of the first half but Eto'o broke the deadlock in stoppage time when he took advantage of a defensive mistake from Liam Ridgewell to slot the ball past Myhill, who had saved from Eden Hazard moments earlier.
