Half-Time Report: Newcastle United, Crystal Palace goalless at the break

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace are level in their Premier League meeting this afternoon.

Newcastle United and Crystal Palace have played out a goalless first half in their Premier League meeting this afternoon.

Cameron Jerome came close to giving the visitors an early when he met Jason Puncheon's cross at the front post, but he put his header wide.

The Magpies threatened soon after when Papiss Cisse's fierce strike was palmed away by the keeper and Luuk de Jong followed up to head the rebound over.

Cisse then came close when his low strike was beaten away by Julian Speroni, before Yoan Gouffran saw his own attempt saved.

The visitors were looking dangerous on the break and Yannick Bolasie worked himself some room just inside the box, before firing a strike narrowly over the crossbar.
