Dougie Freedman: 'We won't be in awe of Chelsea'

Dougie Freedman insists that Bolton Wanderers will not be in awe of Chelsea when they meet Jose Mourinho's side in the Capital One Cup.

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has insisted that his side will not fear Chelsea as they prepare to meet the Premier League leaders in the Capital One Cup.

Freedman's team are big underdogs in the third-round tie, but he believes that it is vital for his players to concentrate on their own games, rather than the strength of the opposition.

"The key is to respect Chelsea, but not be in awe of them," the Bolton boss told reporters.

"It's a bigger stage. I won't be losing any sleep about who Jose Mourinho will be picking - whatever team he picks it will be a strong side.

"As a player you need to big up yourself a little bit. That's part of it. You can't just think you're a man of the street as if you've never played before. We won't be in awe of them."

Bolton are without a win in their last 18 games against Chelsea.
