Chelsea manager Antonio Conte hits out at suggestions that he could quit the club and return to Italy in the near future.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has denied reports which suggested that he is looking to leave the club in the near future.

Last month the Italian was reported to have told a radio station that he has "a longing" to return to his homeland and is not keen to "stay abroad for too long".

The comments led to speculation that Conte could choose to depart Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later, having reportedly grown upset with the club's activity in the transfer market over the summer.

"I did an interview two weeks ago and the translation was wrong," Conte told reporters today. "All I said was that one day in the future I would like to go back to Italy.

"But you know my position. I have two years contract with Chelsea and am happy to work for this club and with my players. I like to have this great feeling with our fans.

"My family stay here with me, not in Italy. My daughter goes to school here. It is important to write the truth.

"Every coach, when they start, they work with the club and hope they will stay for a long time and build something important. At the same time, I always say our job is difficult and is strange."

Conte signed a new two-year deal with the Blues over the summer after guiding them to the Premier League title in his first season in English football.
