Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez refuses to admit that he wants the managerial job at Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis.

Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez has refused to be drawn on his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

The former Liverpool boss was appointed at the West London club until the end of the season following the dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo, who led the Blues to FA Cup and Champions League glory last season.

When asked if he would have preferred a permanent role at the club, London 24 quotes Benitez as saying: "I will not say anything about that. When I came here, I knew what was going on. I just want to do my job.

"The world is not ideal for anyone. If you go to Spain you have 50% of people under 25 without a job and maybe 25% of them will never get a job."

Rumours over the last few months have been rife that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is keen to appoint Pep Guardiola, who has revealed that he intends to return to management in the summer.
