Former Chelsea forward Tony Cascarino believes that the Blues need to pick up the points in order to save Andre Villas-Boas's job.

Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino believes that Andre Villas-Boas is on the brink of losing his job following a number of disappointing results in the Premier League.

The Blues have slipped down into fifth place following a 2-0 defeat to Everton at the weekend.

"Villas-Boas is under pressure now," Cascarino told talkSPORT. "He's probably been given more time than most of the previous managers, others have gone for far less.

"The performance was awful, they were second best and outfought against Everton. You know what you're going to get at Goodison Park.

"I've watched Chelsea a lot and I'm scratching my head to work out who their best player is. Everyone is underachieving at Chelsea, including the manager."

The former Premier League champions switch their attention to the FA Cup with a fifth-round fixture against Birmingham City on Saturday.
