Andre Villas-Boas says that he "of course" will lose his job if Chelsea don't finish the season in the top four.

Andre Villas-Boas has reportedly admitted that if he fails to secure Champions League football for Chelsea this season he is facing the chop at Stamford Bridge.

The former Porto boss has come under increasing pressure following a number of disappointing results, including a crushing 2-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday.

When asked if reaching the top four was the minimum requirement to save his job, the Daily Star quotes Villas-Boas as saying: "Of course, of course, of course."

Despite claiming that the defeat at Everton was the Blues' worst of the season, Villas-Boas is confident that he can turn things around.

"Now we are sixth, level on points with the fourth team," he added. "We know exactly what our targets are for the season."

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich cancelled the players' day off yesterday and instead called them into the former Premier League champions' training ground.
