Steve Holland to remain as assistant boss to England manager Gareth Southgate

Steve Holland will reportedly continue in his role as assistant manager to England boss Gareth Southgate before leaving Chelsea at the end of the season.

Steve Holland has reportedly decided to leave Chelsea at the end of the season to work alongside England boss Gareth Southgate on a full-time basis.

The 46-year-old has been assistant manager at Chelsea since 2011, but he has formed an effective partnership with Southgate after being brought into the England Under-21 setup in 2013.

That resulted in Holland assisting Southgate when he was named as England manager on an interim basis, but it became unclear whether he would be able to continue in his dual role due to how Chelsea could potentially benefit from Holland working with some of the Premier League's top stars.

However, with Southgate signing a deal with England until 2020, Holland will reportedly leave Stamford Bridge in May in order to link up with the national team on a full-time basis.

Chelsea have won the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, FA Cup and League during Holland's time on the backroom staff.
