Wigan manager Roberto Martinez won't be drawn on Rafael Benitez's situation at Chelsea, but says that things are sometimes made "harder" for managers.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that a coach's job is made "harder" when they are unable to affect aspects that they have no control over.

The Latics boss was asked on his thoughts regarding Rafael Benitez's outburst against Chelsea in which he revealed that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

"I didn't see it [on Wednesday] night but as a manager you are working 100% every day to try to affect the things you can affect," BBC Sport quotes Martinez as saying.

"Obviously there are many issues you can't affect and you can't do much about it. As a manager that can make your job a little bit harder."

Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Benitez will be in charge of the Blues' Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, despite rumours that he could be given the chop today.
