Roberto Martinez thanks Wigan Athletic's fans for their recent support.

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has thanked the club's fans for their added support in recent weeks.

The Latics, who have lost one game in the last two months, travel to Chelsea this afternoon on the back of two consecutive victories and four games without defeat with seven games to go.

"We're getting an even stronger turn out from our fans," he said. "That support makes a difference.

"That Wigan Athletic voice pushed the team through at Anfield a couple of weeks back, and the greeting before our home games is also having an added effect.

"I feel as though we are as close as ever, and I would first of all thank the fans for making us feel proud of our club."

Meanwhile, Wigan remain in the relegation places on goal difference alone.
