Jose Mourinho criticises Branislav Ivanovic dismissal

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho criticises referee Phil Dowd after Branislav Ivanovic was sent off in their Premier League draw against Manchester United.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has criticised referee Phil Dowd after his side were held to a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in this afternoon's Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The Premier League leaders took the lead when Didier Drogba headed home a corner early in the second half.

However, the Blues were reduced to 10 men after defender Branislav Ivanovic was sent off for a second yellow card in injury time, with Robin van Persie equalising from the subsequent set piece.

Mourinho told reporters after the game: "The red card, I could see it coming. If I have to speak about the second yellow I have to speak about lots of things.

"The penalty that Ivanovic should have been given, the accumulation of yellow cards, the throw-ins... I know I speak always with my heart and get in trouble."

Despite the draw, Chelsea remain at the top of the Premier League.
