Jose Mourinho: 'Didier Drogba could return against Burnley'

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reveals that striker Didier Drogba could return from an ankle injury against Burnley on Monday evening.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out striker Didier Drogba making a return from injury against Burnley next week.

It had been reported that Drogba could miss up to four months of the campaign after suffering an ankle injury during pre-season, but Mourinho believes that the Ivorian has a chance of making the club's first Premier League fixture at Turf Moor.

The 51-year-old told the club's official website: "I don't want to say that he is ready for Monday but with the quality of our medical department and the mentality that he has, I'm not saying that it's impossible for him to recover for Monday."

Drogba has recently returned to Stamford Bridge on a one-year deal.
