Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho 'faces Premier League fine for keeping quiet'

Jose Mourinho could reportedly be fined by the Premier League for refusing to speak to the media following Diego Costa's violent conduct charge.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly in danger of being fined by the Premier League for refusing to carry out media duties.

The Portuguese coach has avoided the press after Diego Costa was charged with violent conduct following an incident in the Blues' League Cup semi-final win over Liverpool last week.

The West London outfit cancelled Mourinho's press conference prior to their 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Stamford Bridge last weekend, and he also refused to carry out post-match interviews.

According to the Daily Star, the Premier League is due to write to Mourinho asking him to explain his reasons for not speaking to the media, and could be fined as a result.

Mourinho would be the first top-flight manager to be punished for not speaking.
