John Terry: 'Under-fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho the best in the world'

John Terry is adamant that under-fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho remains the best in the world and stresses that he has the backing of his players.

Chelsea captain John Terry has insisted that he and his teammates remain fully behind manager Jose Mourinho, whom he regards as the best in the world.

The Portuguese has come under fire in recent weeks after the Premier League champions endured their worst start to a top-flight season for 38 years, winning eight points from 24.

The Blues beat Aston Villa 2-0 last Saturday to get back to winning ways, and Terry says that Mourinho will inspire their turnaround.

"When the chips are down, I'd take this squad over any. I know the players very well. I've been in this situation before, I've seen it happen," he told Chelsea TV.

"We've got a great squad of players. More importantly we've still got the best manager in the world. Everyone's fully behind him.

"There's stories and this and that and everything else, but believe me everyone's together. The fans were unbelievable again at the weekend, so I thank them."

Chelsea, who sit 12th in the table, face a trip to in-form West Ham United at the weekend.
