The Portuguese boss was also understood to be disappointed that the majority of the Chelsea squad did not wish him luck, according to The Mirror.

Roberto Di Matteo has taken charge at the club until the end of the season, and will face Birmingham City in his first game as Blues boss on Tuesday.
