Preview: Southampton vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole previews Chelsea's trip to St Mary's Stadium to play Southampton.

Chelsea will be hoping that they don't become the next top Premier League team to lose at St Mary's Stadium this season when they play Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

The Saints have defeated both Manchester City and Liverpool in the past two months, and a third win would see them move clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino could bring Jose Fonte into his side in place of Jos Hooiveld.

Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez would have been encouraged by his team's form before the international break.

However, he could be forced into rotating his side ahead of a hectic fixture list that sees them play four times in a week.

Fernando Torres could return in place of Demba Ba, while Branislav Ivanovic could earn a start after Gary Cahill was absent from international duty with England.

Recent form

Southampton: DWLLDW

Chelsea: WWLDWW

Possible starting lineups

Southampton: Boruc; Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Ramirez, Cork, Lallana; Lambert, Rodriguez

Chelsea: Cech; Cole, David Luiz, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Lampard, Mata, Moses, Hazard; Torres

Sports Mole says: 1-2
