Jason Roberts refuses to comment on whether he believes that John Terry is a racist, but insists that he would not snub the Chelsea star's handshake.

Jason Roberts has revealed that he would shake John Terry's hand despite his strong stance on anti-racism in football.

The Reading striker was among several black players who opted not to wear the 'Kick It Out' T-shirt during the Premier League warm-ups last weekend.

He has insisted that he will continue his boycott of the campaign until more is done to address the issue, but did say that he would not snub Terry's hand in the traditional pre-match ritual.

However, Roberts refused to answer whether he thought that the Chelsea captain, who is currently serving a four-match ban for racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand, was a racist.

"Yes, I would shake John Terry's hand," said Roberts. Asked if he felt Terry was a racist, he replied: "I would shake John Terry's hand, definitely."

Roberts is believed to be a leading figure in moves to begin a breakaway association for black players only.
