Chelsea fight back to secure a 1-1 draw with Austrian side RZ Pellets WAC in a pre-season friendly.

An inexperienced Chelsea side fought back from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Austrian side RZ Pellets WAC on Wednesday evening.

Lewis Baker and Patrick Bamford tried their luck early on, but it was Mohamed Salah who came closest for Jose Mourinho's side in the first half.

The Egyptian winger couldn't quite direct his left-footed volley either side of the goalkeeper after a good flick-on by Bamford on 24 minutes.

Izzy Brown had a great chance to build on his two-goal display against Wycombe Wanderers last week, but the youngster's close-range effort was well saved by Alexander Kofler shortly before half time.

Ten minutes after the restart, the home side took the lead when Silvio de Oliveira bundled the ball home from close range to turn their spell of dominance into the opening goal.

With the Blues struggling to break down the Austrians, it was left to Jeremie Boga to drag his side back into things with seven minutes remaining.

The Frenchman picked the ball up from 25 yards and drove at the heart of the defence before producing a smart finish over Hofler.

Chelsea next take on Werder Bremen on August 3 as their pre-season preparations continue.
